Heilongjiang’s Historic Locomotive Depot Attracts Winter Visitors

Under a blanket of snow, the Chinese Eastern Railway Museum in Hengdaohezi Town of Hailin City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, is bustling with activity. The museum features two main exhibition areas: a historic church and a locomotive depot. These architecturally unique structures, rich with historical significance, draw visitors from far and wide to experience their timeless charm and capture memorable photos.

The museum is built on the foundation of the Hengdaohezi Locomotive Depot, part of the Middle East Railway architectural complex. With a history spanning over a century, the depot is the largest locomotive facility along the eastern section of the railway and one of the best-preserved semicircular steam locomotive depots.
