Spring Festival Earns UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Status

In a significant cultural milestone, UNESCO has officially recognized the \"Spring Festival, social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of the traditional New Year\" by adding it to its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on December 4.

The announcement coincided with vibrant celebrations in Langzhong Ancient Town, Sichuan Province. Visitors were treated to a rich tapestry of local folk culture, featuring traditional lion and dragon dances, captivating Baxiang Drum performances, and a mesmerizing lantern parade, among other festivities.

Langzhong Ancient Town provided a unique backdrop for these age-old traditions, allowing both locals and tourists to immerse themselves in the historical and cultural essence of the Spring Festival.
