The three-day Qingming Festival holiday has ignited a remarkable boom in domestic tourism, with an astounding 119 million travelers exploring destinations across the nation. This marks an impressive 11.5% increase compared to the same period in 2019.

Spending nearly 54 billion yuan (approximately 7.4 billion USD), tourists from the Chinese mainland embraced a variety of getaway options. From serene flower strolls to adventurous hikes, spring outings and nature expeditions topped the list of favorite holiday activities. Data from Qunar.com reveals that the 18 to 25 age group was the most active, showcasing young people's passion for exploration and new experiences.

On April 4, the first day of the Qingming Festival, popular scenic spots were nearly as crowded as train stations during the Spring Festival travel rush, highlighting the festival's significant impact on boosting national tourism.
