Hong Kong Sees Record 2.27 Million Outbound Trips During Easter

Hong Kong residents made over 2.27 million outbound trips during the Easter holiday, showcasing a significant surge in travel activity. Of these, more than 1.9 million travelers headed north to the mainland, according to preliminary data from the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government.

Highlighting this travel boom, the Zhuhai port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) witnessed over 19,000 inbound and outbound vehicles on Monday. This number marks a record high since the bridge's opening, surpassing the previous single-day record of 18,400 vehicles set on March 31 this year. The HZMB remains the world's longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing, playing a pivotal role in facilitating travel between Hong Kong and the mainland.
