The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) has reached a new milestone, witnessing over 130,000 inbound and outbound passengers on Monday, marking the third day of the Chinese New Year celebrations. This achievement sets a new record since the bridge's opening, as official data from the HZMB border inspection station confirms.
Last year, the HZMB saw its highest single-day passenger flow of 115,000 during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period. This year’s latest numbers not only surpass that record but also reflect the increasing significance of the HZMB as a vital transportation link.
From Saturday to Monday, the port handled a total of 310,000 passengers and 41,000 vehicles, marking a 5.2 times increase in passenger numbers and a 2.4 times rise in vehicle traffic compared to the same period last year during the Spring Festival. Specifically, 184,000 inbound travelers, including 24,000 inbound vehicles, passed through the port.
The 55-kilometer HZMB connects the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the city of Zhuhai in the southern Guangdong Province, and the Macao SAR, fostering unprecedented economic opportunities and benefits for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
