The Zhijiang branch of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou has quickly become a favorite spot for museum enthusiasts since its grand opening on August 29.
Leveraging the rich cultural heritage of Zhejiang Province, the new museum boasts an impressive collection of cultural relics. Highlights include the \"king of jade cong,\" a ceremonial artifact unearthed from the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, dating back approximately 5,000 years, and \"The Remaining Mountain,\" a piece from the renowned Chinese painting masterpiece \"Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains\" by Huang Gongwang (1269-1354).
Spanning a total floor area of 100,000 square meters, the museum dedicates 32,000 square meters to exhibition spaces. Visitors can explore a diverse array of artifacts, from celadon ware and paintings to displays of traditional folk customs, across various ongoing exhibitions. The standout exhibit, \"Ten Thousand Years of Zhejiang – Zhejiang History and Culture Exhibition,\" presents the region's history from the Shangshan Culture over 10,000 years ago to modern times, featuring over 2,000 objects.
Embracing modern technology, the museum incorporates 3D digital space modeling and other advanced systems to create an immersive digital exhibition hall. Low reflection glass has been used to minimize light interference, ensuring visitors can fully appreciate the cultural relics.
The Zhijiang Branch is a key component of the Zhijiang Cultural Center, the largest cultural complex in Zhejiang Province. The center also includes the Zhejiang Library, Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, Zhejiang Literature Museum, and Zhijiang Culture Public Service Center.
