Nvidia Unleashes Jetson Orin Nano Super with 70% Performance Boost

Nvidia has taken a significant step forward in the AI development space by upgrading its entry-level AI developer board. The newly announced \"Jetson Orin Nano Super\" builds upon the foundation of its predecessor, the Jetson Orin Nano, which debuted in 2022.

What sets the Jetson Orin Nano Super apart is its software enhancement, which Nvidia claims delivers a remarkable 70% performance boost under specific conditions. This upgrade isnโ€™t limited to the new model; the original Jetson Orin Nano users can also access the enhanced software, elevating their device's performance from 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS) to an impressive 67 TOPS with 8-bit integer precision (INT8).

Despite boasting hardware similarities with the previous model, Nvidia has halved the price of the new developer board, setting it at $249 compared to the original $499. This pricing strategy positions the Jetson Orin Nano Super as a more accessible option for developers and enthusiasts looking to harness the power of generative AI.

Nvidia markets the Jetson Orin Nano Super as a \"compact generative AI supercomputer.\" However, with a performance rating of 67 TOPS, it falls short of the company's offerings for gaming laptops and is a far cry from true supercomputers equipped with thousands of AI chips.
