Global Meta Outage Disrupts Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp & More

Multiple Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Threads, experienced a widespread outage on Wednesday, disrupting access for millions of users worldwide.

The outage began around 10 a.m. Pacific Time, according to the downtime tracking website Downdetector, which recorded over 97,000 issue reports for Meta apps and over 67,000 reports for Instagram alone.

Meta responded to the disruption by acknowledging a \"technical issue\" in a post on X at 10:48 a.m. Pacific Time. \"We're aware that a technical issue is impacting some users' ability to access our apps. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,\" the company stated.

Instagram shared a similar message on X, while WhatsApp confirmed experiencing its own issues but noted that they were \"starting to see a return to normal for most people\" as of 10:49 a.m. Pacific Time.

As of now, the exact cause of the outage remains unknown, and Meta has yet to provide further details. Users are advised to stay tuned to official channels for updates.
