Global Mayors Gather in Hangzhou to Drive Sustainable Urban Futures

The Global Mayors Dialogue, a premier forum for urban governance and sustainable development, is set to take place in Hangzhou, the vibrant capital of Zhejiang Province in east China, this Wednesday.

Representatives, including mayors from 24 cities across 15 countries and regions, alongside diplomatic envoys to China and key domestic departments, will convene to exchange experiences in urban governance and explore cutting-edge practices for sustainable growth.

As epicenters of economic, cultural, and technological progress, cities play a pivotal role in shaping the future. Hangzhou, renowned for its three UNESCO World Heritage sites—the West Lake Cultural Landscape, the Grand Canal, and the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City—offers a unique blend of rich cultural heritage and a booming digital economy. With a robust business environment and a history of international collaboration, Hangzhou maintains 31 international sister cities and fosters friendly relations with 42 foreign cities.

The forum aims to highlight the achievements of both Chinese and international cities in areas such as innovative governance systems, digital economic development, ecological conservation, and cultural preservation. These insights are expected to guide the evolution of urban centers worldwide.

In addition to the main agenda, two parallel sub-forums will focus on \"Integration of Cities and Digital Reality\" and \"Cities and Green Development.\" These sessions will feature in-depth discussions with representatives and experts, delving into the future trajectories of urban development.
