China Unveils Action Plan for High-Standard Global Certification and Accreditation

China has unveiled an ambitious action plan aimed at promoting the high-standard opening up of certification and accreditation. This initiative, introduced by the country's top market regulator on August 28, outlines the strategic goals, tasks, and measures set to transform the industry between 2024 and 2030.

Pu Chun, the deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation, emphasized at a recent press conference that the plan encourages companies to leverage new technologies and uphold the credibility and quality of their products. By doing so, businesses can gain greater market trust, increasing demand and enhancing their competitiveness both domestically and internationally.

A key aspect of the action plan is the establishment of a comprehensive framework for international cooperation and mutual recognition. China has actively participated in international conformity assessment activities, fostering deeper collaboration with global partners.

As of the end of June this year, China had become a member of 21 international certification and accreditation organizations. Additionally, it has signed 15 multilateral mutual recognition agreements and 128 bilateral cooperation arrangements, according to official data. These efforts underline China's commitment to integrating its certification standards with global benchmarks, ensuring seamless trade and quality assurance across borders.
