Jordan's Health Ministry announced on Monday the first confirmed case of mpox for 2024. The patient is a 33-year-old non-Jordanian male who developed a characteristic mpox rash and was diagnosed through laboratory testing.
The individual is currently receiving treatment and is in stable condition at Al Basheer Hospitals in Amman. Authorities emphasized that they are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to manage any further developments related to the disease in line with the national health plan.
This marks the second mpox case recorded in Jordan, with the first case reported back in 2022. The Health Ministry assured the public that they will continue to track and address mpox cases diligently to ensure public health and safety.
