In a significant advancement for space technology, the Chinese mainland successfully launched a new group of remote sensing satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province on Tuesday.
The mission was carried out using a Long March-4B carrier rocket, which propelled the Yaogan-43 02 satellites into their designated orbits at 9:22 a.m. Beijing Time. This launch marks the 533rd flight mission of the renowned Long March series rockets.
The newly deployed satellites are set to conduct tests on cutting-edge technologies for low-orbit constellation systems, enhancing China's capabilities in earth observation and data collection. The Long March-4B rocket, known for its reliability, is a three-stage carrier rocket powered by liquid fuel and is capable of delivering various types of satellites to different orbits, with a payload capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes to a sun-synchronous circular orbit.
Experts anticipate that the advancements from the Yaogan-43 02 satellites will contribute significantly to environmental monitoring, disaster management, and national security, positioning the Chinese mainland as a key player in the global space technology arena.
