China Accelerates New Industrialization to Drive Modernization

China is set to ramp up its efforts to promote new industrialization, aiming to provide robust support for the nation's modernization, according to Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong.

Minister Jin outlined plans to accelerate the development of a modern industrial system, with advanced manufacturing at its core. This initiative seeks to foster a deeper integration between the real economy and the digital economy, enhancing the resilience and security of industrial and supply chains. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on the high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

To boost competitiveness across the entire industrial chain, China will embark on major technological and large-scale equipment upgrades within the manufacturing sector. Key focus areas include intelligent connected new-energy vehicles and lithium batteries, which are poised to drive future growth.

Minister Jin also highlighted the development of new growth engines such as bio-manufacturing, commercial aerospace, and the low-altitude economy. Emerging fields like humanoid robots, 6G technology, and atomic-level manufacturing will also receive significant attention, positioning China at the forefront of technological innovation.
