July witnessed a remarkable surge in China's new energy passenger vehicle market, showcasing the country's unstoppable momentum in sustainable mobility.
According to the China Passenger Car Association, approximately 878,000 units of new energy passenger vehicles were sold last month, marking an impressive 36.9% year-on-year growth.
Exports also saw significant increases, with around 92,000 new energy passenger vehicles shipped abroad in July. This represents a 1.3% increase compared to the previous year and an 18.2% rise from the previous month, accounting for 24.5% of total passenger vehicle exports.
The growing overseas recognition of Chinese new energy brands is driving the positive outlook for exports. Despite some recent external challenges, the China Passenger Car Association remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of the new energy vehicle export market.
In July, new energy vehicle sales constituted 51.1% of all vehicle sales in China, a significant increase of 15 percentage points from the same period last year. This rapid growth is attributed to China's robust manufacturing sector, well-established industrial chains, and the advancement of new quality productive forces.
Total passenger vehicle exports from China reached 376,000 units in July, reflecting a 20% year-on-year increase and maintaining stability compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, retail sales of passenger cars in China hit 1.72 million units last month, a slight decline of 2.8% year-on-year.
As China continues to lead in the new energy vehicle sector, the combination of strong domestic demand and expanding international markets positions the country as a pivotal player in the global push towards sustainable transportation.
