Bangkok buzzed with excitement as a rare lunar sample from China’s Chang’e-5 mission took center stage at the Sci Power for Future Thailand Fair. The 75-milligram specimen, beautifully encased within a rotating crystal sphere and named \"The Moon Shines Bright On Me,\" offered visitors an up-close look at moon soil like never before.
Elementary school student Tannya Neesanant was among the many captivated by the display. \"The lunar sample's unusual color intrigued my curiosity, as it appeared to be sand rather than soil,\" the seven-year-old shared.
This extraordinary exhibit is the result of a collaboration between the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA), showcasing a portion of the samples collected by the Chang’e-5 lunar probe. Known as one of China's most complicated and challenging aerospace missions, Chang’e-5's achievements were a highlight for attendees at the fair, which concluded on Sunday.
