The 2024 Internet Civilization Conference will take place on August 28 and 29 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, organized by the Chinese mainland authorities.
With the theme of promoting the spirit of the times and jointly advancing civility in cyberspace, the conference aims to address key aspects of the digital landscape.
Yang Jianwen, deputy chief of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Cyberspace Administration of China, highlighted that the event will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum, and several sub-forums.
Topics for the sub-forums include advancing civility in cyberspace, fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, protecting minors in the online environment, and promoting internet art development and cultural strength.
Additionally, there will be discussions on artificial intelligence and online law enforcement to ensure a sound business environment, emphasizing the integration of technology and regulation.
