China’s Second Homegrown Mega Cruise Ship Sets Sail from Guangzhou

Guangzhou is set to become the new home port for China's second homegrown large cruise ship, marking a significant milestone in the nation's burgeoning cruise industry. Announced by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, the ship will operate out of the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port in Guangdong Province.

Adora Cruises, the operator of the new vessel, has entered into a cooperation agreement with the port to jointly promote Guangzhou's cruise sector and explore opportunities in the South China market. Hua Chi, manager of the general office at Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port, highlighted the port's impressive features, including a 770-meter shoreline and the most extensive port inspection channels among China's domestic cruise home ports, ensuring optimal conditions for passengers.

Yang Guobing, chairman of Adora Cruises with CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co., Ltd., emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing customer experiences. \"After the second large cruise ship settles down in Guangzhou, we will improve our products to showcase the culture of the Lingnan area and Guangzhou's distinctiveness. The ship will offer larger spaces and better facilities, primarily operating routes to South and Southeast Asia, complementing the Adora Magic City cruise ship,\" he stated.

The second homegrown large cruise ship is currently undergoing final assembly and is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026. It is slated to commence international operations in 2027, offering enriched travel options and promoting Guangzhou as a key player in the global cruise industry.
