Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Exceeds 2 Million Vehicle Milestone

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has witnessed a remarkable surge in traffic, surpassing 2 million vehicles since its inauguration on June 30, according to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation on Saturday.

Of these, 1.85 million were passenger cars, while trucks accounted for 150,200 vehicles utilizing the new infrastructure in Guangdong Province, southern China.

Stretching over 24 kilometers, the link manages an impressive daily average of over 100,000 vehicles. In the first 72 hours post its official opening, a staggering 305,000 vehicles crossed the bridge.

As one of the most challenging cross-sea cluster projects, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has set 10 world records. The link begins at the Shenzhen airport interchange and connects with Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan across the Pearl River, reducing the Shenzhen-Zhongshan travel time from two hours to approximately 30 minutes.
