SpaceX Polaris Dawn: Pioneering First All-Civilian Spacewalk

SpaceX is gearing up to launch Polaris Dawn, the first commercial spaceflight mission featuring an all-civilian spacewalk. Scheduled for no earlier than July 31, this groundbreaking mission is spearheaded by U.S. billionaire Jared Isaacman.

Following the Inspiration4 mission launched in September 2021, Polaris Dawn marks the second all-civilian mission. It aims to execute the first-ever private spacewalk, conduct research on human health in space, and test the spacecraft's Starlink WiFi capabilities.

Reaching a high orbit approximately 700 kilometers above Earth, Polaris Dawn will achieve the highest-altitude crewed flight since the Apollo moon missions. The mission will utilize SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule, carrying Isaacman and three other crew members for around five days in orbit.
