The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a mega cross-sea passage in south China's Guangdong Province, has achieved an impressive milestone by handling over 300,000 vehicles within just 72 hours of its official opening. According to data from Guangdong Transportation Group, the link processed 305,000 vehicles by 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Spanning 24 kilometers, this ambitious project features one underwater tunnel, two bridges, and two artificial islands. It stands as one of the most challenging cross-sea cluster projects, setting 10 world records in the process.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link begins at the Shenzhen airport interchange and connects to Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan across the Pearl River. This new infrastructure has dramatically reduced the travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan from two hours to approximately 30 minutes, enhancing connectivity and boosting regional economic growth.
