China is making significant strides in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, now home to over 4,500 AI companies. This surge underscores the nation's commitment to embracing the AI boom, as revealed by official figures at the recent World Intelligence Expo 2024, held in Tianjin Municipality, north China.
Shan Zhongde, the vice minister of industry and information technology, unveiled that China has established 421 national-level demonstration factories dedicated to intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, there are more than 10,000 provincial-level digital workshops and smart factories across the country.
The expo showcased cutting-edge AI technologies, ranging from humanoid robots to autonomous vehicles. Officials and experts highlighted how AI is rapidly transforming various aspects of human life, signaling a new era of innovation and technological advancement in China.
