Origin Wukong Quantum Computer Hits 10 Million Global Users

China's groundbreaking third-generation superconducting quantum computer, Origin Wukong, has reached an impressive milestone by attracting over 10 million remote visits from around the world. This achievement highlights the rapid advancements in quantum computing technology spearheaded by the Chinese mainland.

As reported by the China Science and Technology Daily, Origin Wukong has been accessed by individuals from 124 countries and regions, completing nearly 236,000 quantum computing tasks. Powered by the indigenous 72-qubit Wukong chip, this state-of-the-art machine began its operations on January 6 in Hefei, Anhui Province. It stands as one of the most advanced programmable and deliverable superconducting quantum computers in the country.

Since its launch, Origin Wukong was made available to global users for free during a limited period, fostering widespread engagement and collaboration. Users from the United States, Canada, and TĂĽrkiye have been at the forefront, leading the number of logins and contributing to the diverse range of quantum computing tasks processed by the system.

The name 'Wukong' pays homage to Sun Wukong, the Monkey King from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Sun Wukong's ability to transform into 72 different forms symbolizes the quantum computer's powerful and versatile capabilities, reflecting its potential to revolutionize various fields through advanced computing power.
