A new report from the McKinsey Global Institute predicts that artificial intelligence (AI) will dramatically reshape labor markets worldwide by 2030. Titled \"A new future of work: The race to deploy AI and raise skills in Europe and beyond,\" the study highlights AI's potential to automate nearly one-third of working hours in the United States and Europe.
This transformation is expected to polarize the labor market, with high-skilled, high-wage jobs facing talent shortages, while low-wage industries may experience a surplus of labor. Specifically, the proportion of high-wage jobs is projected to rise by 1.8 percent, whereas low-wage jobs may decrease by 1.4 percent.
Germany stands out in the report, anticipating around 3 million jobs impacted by AI by 2030, accounting for 7 percent of its total employment. Office roles in administrative sectors of companies and public institutions are expected to be the most affected, making up 54 percent of all AI-impacted positions.
