International academic publisher Springer Nature has recently signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Fudan University in Shanghai, aiming to establish a long-term collaboration mechanism and strengthen ties across multiple fields.
Marc Spenlé, chief operating officer of Springer Nature Group, highlighted that this partnership marks another milestone in the company's enhanced efforts to facilitate international research collaboration in China.
By providing high-quality services to support Fudan University's pursuit of research excellence, Springer Nature anticipates in-depth cooperation in various areas, including research capacity building, growth of early-career scientists, and the study of international scientific research trends.
\"Shanghai is not just a commercial hub, it is a hub for innovation,\" Spenlé remarked. Springer Nature established an office in Shanghai approximately twelve years ago, preceding its expansion into other Chinese cities.
On May 7, Springer Nature also signed a letter of intent for cooperation with the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology and Wenzhou City, supporting the World Young Scientists Summit hosted by Wenzhou. This initiative aims to enable early career scientists from China and around the world to collaborate and thrive together.
Reflecting on China's progress, Spenlé noted, \"China has made immense progress in innovation and contributed excellent scientific findings.\" He added that in the Global Innovation Hubs Index, China had three cities or regions ranked among the global top ten.
