China and Hungary Elevate Partnership to Boost Tech and Infrastructure
In a significant move towards deepening economic collaboration, China and Hungary have elevated their bilateral relations to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era. This decision, announced on Thursday, underscores the commitment of both nations to harness the synergistic potential of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Hungary's \"Eastern Opening\" policy.
Istvan Joo, CEO of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), emphasized that China's robust technology and economic growth will be a boon for Hungary. The joint statement outlined plans to establish an inter-governmental cooperation mechanism focused on the China-Europe Railway Express, a pivotal component in enhancing connectivity between the two regions.
Both nations expressed enthusiasm for the development and expansion of the China-Europe Railway Express. A key highlight of the partnership is the construction of the Hungarian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway, a landmark project under the BRI framework. This initiative aims to promote high-level connectivity across Central and Eastern Europe, facilitating smoother and more secure transport routes.
Furthermore, China and Hungary are committed to improving the quality and efficiency of the China-Europe Railway Express, which will play a crucial role in supporting the deepening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The joint efforts to promote infrastructure connectivity are expected to provide substantial economic benefits and foster sustainable growth in the region.
