Zhongguancun Unveils 19 Groundbreaking Sci-Tech Innovations at Annual Forum

China's premier tech hub, Zhongguancun, concluded its annual forum in Beijing on Monday, unveiling 19 original scientific advancements across physics, biology, and integrated circuits. Selected from over 300 submissions recommended by various national ministries and organizations, these innovations represent the pinnacle of China's scientific progress over the past year.

Zhang Dongling, director of the major project division at the Zhongguancun Science Park Administrative Committee, highlighted that the achievements are distinguished by their originality and alignment with international standards. They encompass fundamental research areas such as physics, biology, integrated circuits, and large scientific facilities.

The unveiled advancements span diverse fields, including commercial aerospace, equipment manufacturing, chip technology, blockchain, and 6G communications. Notably, the selection features innovations with significant public benefits, such as cancer drugs, medical devices, synthetic biology, and agricultural technology.

The results were categorized into four thematic segments. Under \"Facing the World's Scientific Frontiers,\" five pioneering achievements were showcased, including the first electron beam conducted at the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) in Beijing's Huairou District, an in-memory computing chip developed by Tsinghua University and China Mobile Research Institute, and the first live birth of a chimeric monkey using embryonic stem cell lines.

Other notable products include the liquid-fueled rocket Zhuque-2 by commercial aerospace company LandSpace, a 10,000-meter-level drilling rig, and the Chang'an Chain privacy computing open platform. Innovations addressing national major needs featured a super-large-scale integrated photonic quantum chip, a Rydberg atom electric field sensing system, a 6G communication technology platform, a modern semantic communication system, and a new type of high-yield semi-dwarf wheat.

In the realm of public health and life sciences, advancements include a new generation of atomic magnetoencephalography (MEG) devices for brain disease diagnosis, stereo-seq technology for studying tissue cells and molecules, a universal neuropeptide fluorescent probe kit for dynamic monitoring of neuropeptide concentrations, a high-resistance, high-expression red ball bacteria chassis cell, and a series of innovative medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Founded in 2007, the Zhongguancun Forum has grown into a national-level open innovation platform and an international forum, consistently focusing on innovation and development. Located in northwestern Beijing, Zhongguancun is home to more than 17,000 national high-tech enterprises and is often referred to as \"China's Silicon Valley.\"
