China has voiced strong objections to Japan's recent proposal to implement export controls on semiconductors and related industries.
A spokesperson from China's Ministry of Commerce stated that these measures could severely disrupt normal trade operations between Chinese and Japanese businesses, threatening the stability of the global supply chain.
The spokesperson urged Japan to revisit and retract its controversial policies, emphasizing that China will take necessary steps to protect the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises.
The Ministry highlighted that the semiconductor sector's globalization means that unilateral export control decisions, framed under national security, can undermine free trade principles and multilateral trade rules. This could lead to fragmentation of the global market and destabilize international industrial and supply chains.
