This year’s fair, opening on Monday in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is attracting nearly 290,000 exhibitors from over 215 countries and regions. The event highlights a significant shift towards digital and smart technologies, with an increased presence of high-tech companies.
Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen, who also serves as China's international trade representative, emphasized the fair's focus on innovation. "We are witnessing a 20 percent increase in participation from high-tech enterprises and SMEs producing unique and novel products," Wang noted.
The fair features over 5,500 national-level high-tech enterprises, alongside specialized manufacturing firms. This session is set to display more tech-savvy products, with expanded exhibition space dedicated to digital technologies and smart manufacturing.
"There are nearly 3,600 related exhibiting companies showcasing over 90,000 intelligent products, including brain-computer interface smart bionic hands, automatic navigation transportation equipment, and AI translation devices," Wang added. More than half of the participating companies are actively integrating digital technologies like artificial intelligence and big data analysis to transform their production and operations.
