The 45th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) showcased the prowess of electric vehicles (EVs) from the Chinese mainland, highlighting their high quality, innovative designs, and competitive pricing.
Held over 12 days and open to the public starting Wednesday, the event featured 49 major auto brands and introduced at least 20 new models, drawing significant attention from car enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
One standout was the MG Cyberster, an electric two-seat convertible sports roadster launched by MG Motor for the first time in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This model quickly captured the hearts of attendees with its sleek design and advanced features.
MG Motor, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, entered the Thai market in 2019. Last November, the company celebrated the production of its first locally manufactured EV in Thailand, marking a significant milestone in its regional expansion.
\"As one of the earliest Chinese brands entering Thailand, we have launched a full range of products from fuel-powered vehicles to EVs in the Thai market to meet customers' demand,\" said Xu Yin, president of MG Sales (Thailand).
