Hainan is making significant strides in building a green, modern industrial system aimed at achieving low-carbon, high-quality development.
On March 17, the Boao Near-Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone officially launched, marking a key milestone in the country's sustainable development efforts. Leveraging Dongyu Island's abundant sunshine, solar panels have been installed on rooftops throughout the demonstration zone.
Wind energy is also a crucial component of Hainan's renewable strategy. Along Wenchang City's coastal road, a series of wind turbines have been erected, seamlessly blending with the scenic coastal landscape. This wind project is expected to contribute over 100 million megawatt-hours of power to the grid annually.
