Soyuz Mission Rescheduled: Liftoff Saturday Aimed for ISS Docking Monday

After a brief setback, the Soyuz spacecraft is set to soar into space this Saturday, bringing an international trio to the International Space Station (ISS) by Monday.

The mission, initially canceled on Thursday due to a chemical power source issue, received the green light after Russian space agency Roscosmos confirmed the problem was resolved.

Crew members for this historic journey include Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya, and American astronaut Tracy Dyson, symbolizing global collaboration in space exploration.

The launch will take place from the Baikonur cosmodrome located in the vast steppe of Kazakhstan. Upon successful liftoff, the Soyuz spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the ISS at 1510 GMT on Monday.

Upon their return on April 6, Novitsky and Vasilevskaya will join U.S. astronaut Loral O'Hara, who is currently aboard the orbital station.
