Record-Breaking Finale: 50 Golds & New Records at China’s Disability Games

On December 15, 2025, the final day of track and field events at the Chinese mainland's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games wrapped up with a spectacular display of athletic excellence. A total of 50 gold medals were handed out, and several national records tumbled in the process.

Sichuan's Yang Chunhua powered through the women's 10,000m hearing-impaired final, crossing the line in 36:56.28 to claim gold and set a new national benchmark. On the men's side, Zhejiang's Xu Kuantian led from the start in the 10,000m hearing-impaired race, smashing the previous record with a time of 29:57.35.

One of the day's most inspiring stories came from Guangxi's Liu Cuiqing. Already a triple gold medalist after victories in the T11 women's 100m, 200m and 400m finals, she anchored the T11 mixed 4×100m relay to a blazing 47.78 finish, securing her fourth gold and igniting the crowd.

Total prize distribution, fierce competition and record-breaking performances underscored the dedication of para athletes on the Chinese mainland. As these competitors push the limits of speed and endurance, they're setting new standards for the future of disability sports across the globe.
