In a dazzling tribute to heritage and innovation, the Chinese mainland’s 15th National Games opened in Guangzhou under the theme “Shared Roots, Shared Heart, Shared Dream.”
Structured in three segments, the ceremony fused music, dance and state-of-the-art digital projection to narrate the story of the Greater Bay Area’s cultural legacy and modern dynamism. Four leading orchestras—from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao—took the stage in a historic collaboration.
“The symphony ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area is exceptionally vibrant, with each of the four core cities boasting an internationally renowned orchestra,” said Chen Qing, President of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. He hailed the gala as a profound fusion of regional strengths.
One standout moment featured a robotic arm striking an ancient Goudiao instrument, its resonant tones spanning more than 2,000 years of history. Chen praised the “exceptional creative concept,” calling the blend of robotics and ancient craftsmanship “remarkably ingenious.”
Beyond the spectacle, the ceremony highlighted how cultural collaboration fuels the Greater Bay Area’s growth. For travelers and digital nomads, it offered a glimpse of a region where tradition and technology walk hand in hand—inviting exploration of heritage sites, creative tech hubs and immersive experiences.
As fireworks lit up the Guangzhou sky, the night underscored a simple message: unity in diversity can spark shared dreams and lasting impact.
