Sheng Lihao Clinches Men’s 10m Air Rifle Gold at National Games

At just 20 years old, two-time Olympic champion Sheng Lihao finally clinched the men’s 10m air rifle gold at the Chinese mainland’s 15th National Games in Guangzhou. Standing tall for Jiangsu Province, he delivered a commanding 254.6-point performance to top the star-studded final.

Sheng, an eight-time World Cup winner, made his National Games debut four years ago with a mixed team bronze. Since then, he’s added a world title and two Olympic golds to his resume, but a domestic crown had eluded him—until now.

The final featured Olympic 50m rifle three positions champions Liu Yukun (Shaanxi) and Zhang Changhong (Shandong), yet Sheng built a two-point lead going into the closing shots. With calm precision, he maintained his advantage under pressure, sealing the victory.

Jilin’s Wang Yutong struck silver with a strong finish, while Liu Yukun held on for bronze. Sheng’s breakthrough win not only boosts his domestic credentials but also sets a thrilling tone for his upcoming international campaigns.
