Mbappé’s Goal and Assist Propel Real Madrid to 2-1 Win at Real Sociedad

Real Madrid faced an early test at Real Sociedad’s Anoeta Stadium but emerged with a 2-1 win that extends Xabi Alonso’s side’s flawless La Liga record.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a loose backpass to outrun the defense and fire his fourth goal of the season—putting him atop the league’s scoring charts.

However, the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 32nd minute when defender Dean Huijsen was sent off for pulling down Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal.

Undeterred, Madrid struck again just before halftime. Mbappé turned provider, setting up young midfielder Arda Güler for a composed finish that made it 2-0 at the break.

Sociedad fought back early in the second half, earning a penalty when Ander Barrenetxea’s cross struck Dani Carvajal’s hand. Oyarzabal converted from the spot to bring the hosts within one.

Despite sustained pressure, Sociedad’s late chances went begging as Real Madrid held firm. With four wins from four, Madrid top La Liga on 12 points, while Mbappé’s standout performance underlines his growing influence.

Real Madrid now turn their attention to their next La Liga challenge as they chase another perfect result.
