China Tops Croatia 2-1 in Thrilling Women’s Beach Handball at Chengdu World Games

In a thrilling opener at the 2025 Chengdu World Games, China’s women’s beach handball team overcame an early setback to defeat Croatia 2-1 in Group B.

The match featured two 10-minute sets. After dropping the first period 20-13, the hosts rallied in the second to level the contest at 1-1.

A golden goal shootout decided the winner. In the decisive one-on-one faceoffs, China prevailed 8-6, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Next up, the Chinese squad will face Argentina and Portugal as they aim to advance to the knockout stage.

On the men’s side, China opened with a 2-0 loss to Tunisia.
