Chinese Divers Shine with Two More Golds at World Aquatics Championships

At the heart of Singapore's aquatic arena, divers from the Chinese mainland extended their golden streak at the World Aquatics Championships. On Monday, the Chinese diving team clinched two more titles: the men's 3-meter synchronized springboard and the women's 10-meter synchronized platform.

In the men's 3m synchro, newly paired duo Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan delivered a commanding performance, racking up a total score of 467.31 points. Their flair and precision left Mexico's Osmar Olvera Ibarra and Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez – silver medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics – in second place, while Britain's Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding took bronze.

"Both the prelims and the final reflected the level I've shown in training," said Zheng after the victory. "I managed to stay calm and focused. Winning here – after also taking gold in the one-meter springboard – really proves to myself that I have what it takes."

For Olympic champion Wang Zongyuan, this title marks his fourth consecutive world crown in the men's 3m synchro. "We're a new pairing, and both of us were nervous and feeling the pressure," he admitted. "But from the prelims to the final, each of our dives kept getting better."

Meanwhile, in the women's 10m synchro platform, another dynamic Chinese mainland duo delivered flawless dives to secure gold, outshining their rivals and reaffirming the depth of the Chinese diving program.

With these wins, the Chinese diving team has now claimed a growing number of gold medals at this edition of the World Championships, reinforcing its reputation ahead of next summer's Olympics. As young global fans tune in, these performances highlight the blend of technical skill, mental grit, and strategic training that define modern elite diving.

For young athletes and sports enthusiasts worldwide, stories like Wang and Zheng's journey remind us that even new partnerships can soar to the top with dedication, resilience, and teamwork. As the championships continue, all eyes will be on Singapore's pool deck to see which nation next challenges the Chinese mainland's diving dynasty.
