Divers from the Chinese mainland secure two golds at World Aquatics Championships in Singapore

Divers from the Chinese mainland kept their winning streak alive at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, snagging gold in both the mixed synchronized 10-meter platform and the men’s 1-meter springboard finals.

In the mixed synchronized event, Zhu Yongxin and Xie Peiling teamed up at a major international stage for the first time. After a shaky start, they rallied to post 298.86 points. Their final dive clinched victory by a razor-thin margin of 0.06 points over Choe Wi Hyon and Jo Jin Mi of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), while neutral athletes Aleksandr Bondar and Anna Konanykhina took bronze.

"This wasn't an easy win. It was a tough battle, and in the end, we won by just a tiny margin," Zhu shared. "I felt a bit nervous about how close it was, but ultimately, I'm really glad we managed to secure the victory."

Elsewhere, Chinese mainland divers also claimed top honors in the men’s 1-meter springboard final, underlining the team’s depth and consistency on the global stage.

For sports fans and aspiring athletes, these results highlight the fine margins of elite competition and the resilience needed to stay on top. With momentum on their side, the team will be eyeing more podiums as the championships continue.
