In a move that has captured attention from La Liga to the Premier League, Marcus Rashford says Barcelona already "feels like home" after sealing a loan deal from Manchester United until June 30, 2026.
The Spanish champions confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, noting an option to buy the 27-year-old England international at the end of the loan. Local reports indicate Barcelona will cover about 75 percent of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wage, with the forward foregoing the remainder.
Out of favour under United coach Ruben Amorim, Rashford spent the final months of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa. Still, he avoided criticizing his boyhood club, acknowledging that "Manchester United has been an important part of not only my career but just my life. I don’t have anything bad to say about them."
Reflecting on his decision, Rashford added, "It was easy – this is a family club, something I’m used to from my past. It feels like home, so I know I’ve made the right choice. I’m just excited to get going and eager to play the first game. It’s a special moment for me."
Rashford will don the No. 14 shirt at Camp Nou, a number once worn by Thierry Henry. "To wear this shirt is an honour," he said. "The club is built on winning and I’m here to add to that history." Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely as Rashford writes the next chapter of his career in Spain.
