Beijing Guoan Reclaim CSL Summit
In a thrilling Monday night showdown at the Workers Stadium, Beijing Guoan overturned an early deficit to beat Yunnan Yukun 2-1 and reclaim first place in the Chinese Super League. Despite falling behind to Ye Chugui’s close-range finish in the first half, Guoan showed resilience after the break.
Midway through the second half, Fabio Abreu leveled the score, tapping in from a Zhang Yuning assist in the 55th minute. Zhang Yuning’s pressure then forced a penalty, which Zhang Xizhe calmly converted to seal the comeback. The win marked Guoan’s 400th match at their iconic home ground and moved them level on 38 points with Shanghai Shenhua, but back on top thanks to goal difference.
Shanghai Port’s Late Turnaround in Shenzhen
Two-time defending champions Shanghai Port continued their charge with a 2-1 away win over Shenzhen Peng City. Li Ning opened the scoring in just the ninth minute, capitalizing on early pressure. Shenzhen responded when Li Xinxiang ripped in a spectacular long-range strike in the 63rd minute. However, Leonardo’s goal in the 77th minute secured Port’s victory, extending their unbeaten run to seven games and keeping them in fourth place.
Shandong and Dalian Round Out the Weekend
In Henan, Shandong Taishan let a two-goal lead slip, settling for a 2-2 draw. Zeca put Shandong ahead with a brace before Henan rallied through Felippe Cardoso, who scored a header and tacked on a penalty after a foul on Frank Acheampong.
Elsewhere, Dalian Yingbo climbed back into the top ten with a 1-0 victory over Zhejiang. Cephas Malele headed home in the 42nd minute, ending Zhejiang’s three-match unbeaten streak and earning Dalian three valuable points.
