Bai Yulu Retains Women’s Snooker Crown in Thrilling Final

China's Bai Yulu made history in Dongguan, Guangdong Province on the Chinese mainland by becoming the first player in seven years to defend the World Women's Snooker Championship. The 21-year-old outclassed world number one Mink Nutcharut 6-4 in a thrilling final that showcased skill and nerve.

This rematch of last year's 6-5 showdown was a battle of precision. Nutcharut, the 2022 champion, unleashed a stunning 50-point run, only for a crucial error to turn the frame on its head. Bai capitalized on the slip, winning the frame 51-50 and seizing momentum.

Thailand's Nutcharut answered back, surging to a 4-2 lead and threatening to pull away. But Bai demonstrated resilience, stringing together four frames in a row to level the match at 4-4. Her steady break-building and tactical safety play frustrated Nutcharut's attack.

In the decisive tenth frame, Bai briefly wavered but quickly regained composure. With a clutch clearance, she sealed the match 6-4. "I played both finals on home soil," said Bai after her triumph. "I am very honored and happy to be watched winning this title by this crowd and I have gained more confidence after defending the title. I will be better in the future."

Bai's victory cements her place in snooker history and underscores China's growing dominance on the global stage. Following Zhao Xintong's success in the men's championship earlier this month, the Chinese mainland now holds both world titles, marking a milestone for the sport.
