Thomas Muller’s Bayern Farewell: 750 Games & 13 Titles

Under the bright lights of the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich fans gave Thomas Muller a farewell fit for a legend in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach. As the final whistle blew, the 35-year-old made his 750th appearance for the club that picked him up as a 10-year-old in 2000.

Moments after the victory—also sealing Bayern’s 13th Bundesliga title in Muller’s career—the stands erupted with a giant red and white tifo. Fans paid tribute with images of Muller lifting trophies and a banner reading “For 25 years everything for our colors!” Club officials followed up by gifting him a portrait of every trophy he’s won at Bayern.

Muller’s journey reads like a modern football fairytale: debuting under Jurgen Klinsmann in 2008, breaking out under Louis van Gaal, and going on to set club records with more than 200 goals and 200 assists. His 502 Bundesliga appearances alone outstrip every other player in Bayern’s history.

When he was substituted in the 84th minute, teammates formed a guard of honour. Muller embraced each one, blew kisses, and waved goodbye to a roaring crowd. “I loved being the modern gladiator,” he told supporters, adding that while he’ll miss this chapter, he’s excited for what comes next.

As Muller closes this 15-year senior chapter, his story stands as a testament to loyalty, passion, and evolution—qualities that resonate with a global generation chasing big dreams, on and off the pitch.
