Chinese Mainland Athletes Earn Two Silvers at Artistic Swimming World Cup

Markham, Ontario 6 At the latest stop of the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup, the Chinese mainland squad made a splash by securing two silver medals on Saturday.

In the mixed duet free final, 16-year-old Guo Muye teamed up with 23-year-old Liu Jinhan for their international debut. After Guo s solo free victory earlier in Markham, the pair scored 276.9909 points to take silver and share the podium with Spain s gold medalists Dennis Gonzalez Boneu and Iris Tio Casas, and the bronze pair Jordi Caceres Iglesias and Aurora Lazaro Cabaleiro.

Later in the women s duet free final, twin sisters Lin Yanhan and Lin Yanjun added a second silver for the Chinese mainland, earning 253.0640 points. They trailed Spain s gold duo Iris Tio Casas and Lilou Lluis Valette and outscored France s Laelys Alavez and Romane Lunel, who claimed bronze.

These performances underscore the depth of talent emerging from the Chinese mainland as artistic swimming continues to shine on the global stage.
