Liverpool thrash Tottenham 5-1 to seal 20th Premier League title

Anfield erupted as Liverpool roared back from an early setback to thrash Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 and clinch their record-equalling 20th English title with four games to spare.

Tottenham stunned the home crowd in the 12th minute when Dominic Solanke's header put the visitors ahead.

Luis Diaz tapped in the equaliser before Alexis Mac Allister unleashed a thunderbolt. Cody Gakpo then curled home to give Liverpool a two-goal cushion at the break.

The second half was all Liverpool. Mohamed Salah ended a six-game drought in the 63rd minute, firing a low shot past Guglielmo Vicario and celebrating his 28th league goal of the season with a memorable selfie. An own goal from Destiny Udogie completed the one-sided scoreline.

With 82 points from 34 games, Liverpool have matched Manchester United's English titles record. Arsenal sit second on 67 points, underscoring the champions' dominance.

Manager Arne Slot paid tribute to the foundations laid before he arrived. "I send my appreciation to Jurgen," he said. "Everyone on the bus said, 'There's no way we're going to lose this game.' They always find a way to win. I'm incredibly proud of the players, sport directors and staff. Let's give them a big round of applause."
