Chen Triumphs in Women’s 10m Platform at Diving World Cup

At the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Windsor, Canada, the Chinese mainland's Chen Yuxi turned the tide in a thrilling women's 10-meter platform final. Initially trailing after an error on her second dive, she made a stunning comeback in the following rounds.

Chen's third dive scored 84.15 points, narrowing the gap as her compatriot, Quan Hongchan, secured 86.40 points. However, in the pivotal fourth round, both divers attempted the same maneuver. Chen's flawless execution earned her 92.4 additional points, while Quan's flawed entry dropped her score to 64.35 points.

With both athletes scoring 86.40 points in the final round, Chen clinched the gold with a total of 417.55 points – finishing just 10 points ahead of Quan, who took silver.

Reflecting on her performance, Chen remarked, "I may have been nervous before, but now I am more relaxed and focused on my actions. I used a lot of energy and made some changes in my actions, so I am satisfied with my performance here." Quan added that she was pleased with her overall result, noting this achievement exceeded her expectations from daily training.

The event also showcased stellar performances in synchronized diving. The Chinese mainland's Olympic champions Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani secured gold in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard, while Zhu Zifeng and Cheng Zilong dominated the men's synchronized 10-meter platform, outscoring their international rivals by a wide margin.

This exciting display of athletic prowess highlights the dynamic talent emerging in diving, captivating audiences around the globe.
