Liu and Han Advance to Big Air Freeski Final

Liu Mengting and Han Linshan, representing the Chinese mainland, have clinched their spots in the women’s big air freeski final at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in the Engadin region of Switzerland. Competing on Wednesday, both athletes delivered strong performances that sent shockwaves through the global freestyle skiing community.

Out of four competitors from the Chinese mainland, Liu impressed with a score of 166.25 points, securing fourth place, while Han earned 158.75 points to land eighth. Although their teammates Yang Ruyi and Xiong Wenhui finished 12th and 23rd respectively and did not qualify, the focus now shifts to the electrifying final round set for Thursday.

Notably, 2025 Asian Winter Games women’s big air snowboard gold medalist Xiong Shirui also competed. Despite a promising start with a run of 52.75 points and surging scores above 60 in her subsequent attempts, she ended up in 14th place with a total of 130.25 points. Nonetheless, Xiong expressed satisfaction with her performance, reflecting a resilient spirit and hunger for improvement.
