In an electrifying start to the Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, China's Meng Zhiwei made a remarkable entry by securing the silver medal in the men's rings event. Making his international debut, Meng advanced to the finals in fourth place, showcasing his potential on the global stage.

Elevating the difficulty of his routine, Meng delivered a brilliant performance, earning an impressive score of 13.800 points. His dedication and skill ultimately earned him the silver, with Azerbaijan's Nikita Simonov taking home the gold.

Meanwhile, the women's vault category witnessed a historic moment as Uzbekistan's legendary gymnast, Oksana Chusovitina, triumphantly claimed the gold medal with a score of 13.561 points at the age of 49. Chusovitina, a gymnastics icon with eight Olympic appearances, continues to inspire with her enduring talent. Slovenia's Teja Belak followed suit, earning the silver medal in this category.
