Alphonso Davies’ Late Strike Propels Bayern into Champions League Last 16

Bayern Munich clinched their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League with a dramatic 94th-minute goal from Alphonso Davies on Tuesday. The final score of 1-1 on the night gave Bayern a 3-2 aggregate win over Celtic, paving the way for a face-off against either Bayer Leverkusen or Atletico Madrid.

Celtic had been leading 1-0 since the 63rd minute and were on the brink of giving the German giants their first-ever loss in Germany. However, with Bayern’s Harry Kane sidelined due to injury and time running out, Davies emerged as the hero. He tapped in the crucial goal after Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saved Leon Goretzka's header.

Davies expressed his joy, saying, \"We had the ball on the edge of the box, so I just went into the box and didn't think too much, just put a foot out and it went in. This is football. The scoreline is what it is. The most important thing is that we advanced.\"

Coach Vincent Kompany praised Davies' performance and his dedication to rehab, highlighting his importance to the team moving forward.

In other Champions League action, AC Milan faced elimination after a 1-1 draw with Feyenoord, who advanced with a 2-1 aggregate win. Club Brugge also progressed to the last 16, becoming the first Belgian side to win a knockout tie in the Champions League era after beating Atalanta 5-2 on aggregate. Benfica secured their place with a 4-3 aggregate win over Monaco. The last 16 draw is scheduled for Friday.
