Manchester United Crushed 3-1 by Brighton at Old Trafford

Manchester United faced a tough evening at Old Trafford as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. The loss marked their tenth defeat of the season, the earliest they've reached double figures since the 1989-90 campaign.

Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh was the standout performer, scoring one goal and assisting another. The first goal came early in the match when Kaoru Mitoma bypassed the offside trap, setting up Minteh for an easy finish. Manchester United responded with a penalty scored by Bruno Fernandes, leveling the game at 1-1.

Despite United’s efforts, Brighton regained the lead with another goal from Minteh, followed by a third goal resulting from a costly error by United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana. Brighton’s consistency has been impressive, securing six wins in their last seven league encounters against United and winning their last three matches at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration post-match, stating, \"Another loss at home. It's not acceptable, the way we conceded the goals. We can play some football, but in small spaces of time. It's not consistent, and we get nervous, and then we concede a goal.\"

The match also featured a poignant moment as the teams were led onto the pitch by bagpipes in memory of Manchester United legend Denis Law. A wreath was laid at the center circle by former manager Alex Ferguson, honoring his legacy.

With this defeat, Brighton climbed to ninth place with 34 points, just four points shy of the top four, while Manchester United slipped to 13th place with 26 points.
