Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich delivered a stunning 5-0 victory over Hoffenheim on Wednesday, extending their lead at the top of the standings by four points.
The Bavarians made a swift start with Leroy Sane scoring the opener in the 7th minute, assisted by Thomas Mueller. Raphael Guerreiro doubled the lead after a one-two pass with Harry Kane just five minutes later. The game was effectively sealed by a 26th-minute penalty from Harry Kane, who notched his 16th goal of the Bundesliga season.
Remarkably, Kane has converted all 12 of his penalty attempts in the Bundesliga, securing the league's third-best record in this category.
After the break, Bayern continued their dominance with Sane adding a second goal three minutes into the second half. Substitute Serge Gnabry completed the demolition with the fifth goal in the 66th minute.
Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich now sits comfortably on 42 points, four ahead of champions Bayer Leverkusen. On the other hand, Hoffenheim struggles at 16th place with no wins in their last six league games, putting them in the relegation playoff spot.
